to the Reunion!

May 14, 2008

Here is a slide show with pictures from Pete Kimener's industion into the Holy Cross Atletic Hall of Fame.

March 20, 2008

From Andy McElaney:

Pete Kimener will be inducted into the HC Athletic Hall of Fame on May 3, 2008. Pete was the captain of the football team our senior year, and is forever memorialized in our yearbook as the player who, in the last minute of play, "Caught The Bomb," thrown by Jack Lentz, resulting in an HC victory over BC, 32 to 26. Pete also participated in Track & Field.

The dinner and induction ceremony will be held at the College. Pete will join classmates Jack Lentz and Tom Kelly as a member of the Hall of Fame. This will be an exciting evening and an opportunity for our class to get together. I suspect several classmates will attend and will stay the night in Worcester. More information will be provided as we get closer to the event, but do save the date.

Now it isn't too often that we need two posts on one day and I certainly don't want to detract from the news on Pete but several classmates have written and called to ask, hmmm demand that I put Chris Matthews' dancing performance on Ellen Degeneres up on the site.

March 8, 2008 h

Wow, it has been a long time since there has been any activity here so I was excited to get some e-mail this morning from Bill Byrnes.

Bill Byrnes:

Thought you might be interested in John Cadley’s new album, “The Closer I Get”. It is his first solo album of songs he has written. The musicians on the album are 1st class bluegrass pros out of Nashville. His Glencoves connection is touted on liner notes. I have heard a number of these songs and I am looking forward to hearing them done with the excellent musicians John has assembled for this album. It can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com type in “John Cadley” (Note: here is the link.) in the search box.

Pass this on to others who might be interested in supporting this very talented guy who has dedicated himself to keeping music an important part of his life… Bill08

This is the 1967 Class Picture that many of you have been requesting. John Sindoni was able to get itfrom the photographer. If anyone wants a copy, you can download the original version here. The original is over 5 mbs in size. Take the downloaded file to your local CVS or any camera store and have it printed in the size you want. Thanks, John.

John Miles just sent in a great collection of pictures. They are up on Kodak's EasyShare Gallery, so if you are in them, you can buy prints at a very low price. (And, no, John doesn't get a commission on the sales.)

By the way, can you believe that John has 17 grandchildren???? (Never ask to see his "pictures of my grandkids...")

I have received a lot of comments on Jay McLaughlin's shoes; it appears that everyone wants to know where he bought them. I haven't been able to find out but I did find a picture of the guy he went shopping with to get them.

Reunion 2007

Two of the harder working members of our class, Andy McElaney and John Sindoni, relax at the end of the Alumni Dinner on Saturday night. Andy's effort writing the biographies of so many of our classmates was considered a major reason for the great turnout our class had this weekend.

If you want to share your pictures from this great event, please e-mail them to Paul Keleher.

June 8, 2007

The Reunion is underway! Click to see a slide show of the Friday night dinner. John Brouillard had photographic duties at the morning Golf Tournament. See his slide show.

What is Worcester like, 40 years after we graduated. In many ways it is the same, but in many ways it has changed.

The City is installing a fiber network

Gentlemen: 8 Weeks!

Plus, do you remember this?

April 17, 2007

Tom Kelly asked to remind everybody that the date for Hawk Golf IV has been set: August 4, 2007. Those of you who have attended before know what a great cause this supports and what a great day this has been. Here are some pictures from Hawk Golf III.

March 25, 2007

Well, I woke up to snow this morning but I know a lot of you are thinking about golf and you don't want to wait till Hawk Golf IV to play with your classmates from Holy Cross. Good news! Thanks to Jim Delehaunty and John Brouillard, the Class of 67 Golf Outing for our 40th Reunion is now ready for your applications.

March 25, 2007

More pictures from the NCAA. These are from John Brouillard who traveled to Columbus to see the game. Click to see John's excellent shots. Thanks, John.

March 16, 2007

Ralph Willard's Crusaders lost a tough, hard fought battle between two of the country's top ten defensive teams tonight. There was a lot of purple in the stands and we hope to hear from some of our roving correspondents with stories from Columbus.

March 10, 2007

Congratulations, Ralph!

See the exciting pictures taken by John Brouillard and Tina Kopec.

March 10, 2007

From March 1 through March 5, the USS John F. Kennedy visited Boston for the last time prior to her decommissioning. Over 50,000 people visited the ship during her stay. One who didn't visit the ship was a blind man from South Boston. Too dangerous, the Navy said, for a blind man to tour the ship. As you can imagine, our own Dave Ticchi took up his cause and wrote an Op-Ed for the Boston Herald.

Good work, Dave.

February 28, 2007

We have a new list up of those who have signed up for the Reunion. If you are planning to attend and your name is not on the list, e-mail Paul Keleher.

January 23, 2007

Well, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Memorabilia is starting to find its way here, but first, make sure you read John Sindoni's new Class Letter. I know some people are wondering about Jay McLaughlin, whether he was actually a student at Holy Cross or just lived there so he could get an early start on his paper route. Well, Jay has answered those questions by sending in a copy of his acceptance letter to the Class of 1967. Thanks, Jay (but no more pictures of you). He also sent a picture of Bob Kavanaugh from out graduation.

December 24, 2006

More memorabilia keeps coming in. Jay McLaughlin was kind enough to send a picture from the January 2006 Holy Cross Baseball Dinner. He superimposed the picture over a copy of a program from the 1964 Holy Cross-Harvard Freshman baseball game. Click to see the program and picture.

December 22, 2006

Ralph Willard was interviewed by USA Today's Tim Gardner about the Holy Cross Basketball Team, its competition and future expansion of the NCAA Tournament.

Click to read the article.

Thanks to Bob Massey
for finding this.

December 21, 2006

Hawk McCarthy's Burma Border Project held a planning meeting at the Newton, MA, Marriott on Thursday, December 21, 2006 to attempt to develop some ongoing funding mechanisms. The session was organized and funded by Jim Reynolds. Click for pictures of this luncheon.

December 20, 2006

There have been a number of classmate sightings recently, including Jack Avis, actually spotted out of Worcester County, Mugs Moran, Jim O'Dea and John Miles. As always if you have information or pictures (we love pictures) send them to Paul Keleher.

November 4, 2006

Three members of the Class of 1967 attended this year's President's Council Dinner at Kimball Hall on November 4, 2006. They visited with Dennis Dwyer from the Class of 1966. Andy McElaney is a senior partner at Nutter McClennen & Fish, LLP, a full service Boston law firm founded by Justice Louis D. Brandeis in 1879; Tony Kopec is the Microsoft Platform Engineer at Cervalis, Inc., provider of IT infrastructure solutions, in Wappingers Falls, NY; Joe Sack is Executive Vice President of The Bond Market Association, the trade association representing the global bond industry, in New York City; and Denny Dwyer ('66), a former Secret Service agent, is President of Interpass, Ltd., a provider of international protection and security services with its main office in Irvington, NY. Click to see pictures of the event.

October 27, 2006

We are receiving lots of memorabilia from class members. Please send any pictures or scans to Paul Keleher (pkeleher@comcast.net) The latest submission is a picture of the 1966-1967 Holy Cross Varsity Hockey Team. The members of our class are all in the Back Row: Dick Antoniuc (second player from the left, #10), Dan O'Connell (third player from the left who graduated with the Class of '68 and is now deceased, #8), Captain Paul Doyle, (fourth player from left, #3), Matt Byrne (fifth player from the left, #11), and Mugs Moran (second player from the right, #4). Thanks to Gerry Mulligan for sending this one.

October 2, 2006

The Class of '67 will meet on Saturday, October 7, 2006, to discuss our 40th Reunion . All classmates are cordially invited and encouraged to come to Holy Cross for this meeting. We'll start at 10:00 AM. We'll have sandwiches during the meeting, and then adjourn to Fitton Field for the football game against Brown which begins at 1:00 PM. In addition, several classmates would like to have an early dinner after the game at a restaurant in Worcester.
